CFP Certifications

As of 1 April 2019, the CFPCM certification program in India is now directly administered by U.S.-based Financial Planning Standards Board Ltd. (FPSB Ltd.), owner of the international CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER certification program outside the United States. FPSB Ltd. partners with its global network of Affiliate organizations to administer CFPCM certification programs in 26 countries and territories around the world, representing a global CFP professional community of nearly 190,000 at the end of 2019 (with over 1,900 CFP professionals in India).

FPSB Ltd. has introduced a new education and credentialing pathway to CFPCM certification to facilitate more structured learning and recognition opportunities for candidates for CFP certification in India. Candidates for CFP certification can complete their education requirement through three specialist education courses (investment planning; retirement and tax planning; and risk and estate planning) and a financial planning capstone course.

Students enrolling on or after 1 June 2020 may only choose to enroll in the new program. The updated program will consist of three specialist certifications and one capstone course for CFP certification.
